Silchar : In a remarkable act of social responsibility, Pranab (Tapas) Biswas, proprietor of Service World, chose an unconventional way to celebrate his daughter Aditi’s seventh birthday by organizing an in-house blood donation camp to support critically ill patients. The event was held on Tuesday, June 2, at the Cachar Cancer Hospital Blood Centre, with active support from the Cachar District Committee of the Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum.
To mark the occasion and pray for Aditi’s well-being, six voluntary donors—Satyajit Dutta Choudhury, Meghanjan Chakraborty, Shubhadip Dutta, Monish Bhattacharjee, Hirendra Das, and Bapan Nag—donated blood. In recognition of their humanitarian contribution, each donor received two separate certificates and a medal from the Forum and the Blood Centre.
Explaining the initiative, Pranab Biswas said that beyond bringing joy to his daughter, he hoped to bring hope to patients and families struggling due to blood shortages. Forum President Debabrata Paul praised the initiative and wished Aditi a bright future and long life. Dr. Shabnam Bahar Barbhuiya, In-Charge of the Blood Centre, also addressed the gathering. Several Forum and hospital officials attended the event.
