Udharbond, Silchar : Acting on a tip-off, Udharbond Police conducted a late-evening operation on Wednesday near Blue Hills Nursing Home in Lathigram and seized a massive consignment of illegal intoxicating substances. Led by Officer-in-Charge S.S. Timung, the police team intercepted an Intra Magic vehicle on the highway around 7:30 pm.
During the search, officers recovered more than 8,000 bottles of illegal cough syrup and approximately 36,000 narcotic tablets. The driver, Gias Uddin Laskar of Urauli village under Udharbond Fifth Part, was arrested on the spot.
Police stated that the accused will be produced before the Silchar Court on Thursday. The successful operation highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb drug trafficking and prevent the spread of narcotics in the region.
