Cachar DC Mridul Yadav and district's top officials pay homage to BSF constable martyred in Jammu floods

Janasanyog, Silchar : In a deeply moving tribute, on Friday,Cachar District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS, along with senior district officials, paid homage to the mortal remains of BSF Constable Rajib Nunia, who tragically lost his life while performing duty during the recent flash floods in Jammu.

The solemn ceremony took place in Udharbond, where the District Commissioner, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta, APS; Co-District Commissioner of Dholai and Additional District Commissioner (DDMA) Cachar, Roktim Baruah, ACS; and other senior officials, offered floral wreaths and observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect to the fallen hero.

The officials gathered around the coffin draped in the Tricolour, honouring the supreme sacrifice of Constable Nunia, whose unwavering commitment to his duty cost him his life in the face of a natural disaster.

Speaking on the occasion, District Commissioner Mridul Yadav expressed profound grief over the loss. “Constable Rajib Nunia’s courage and dedication to the nation will always be remembered with pride. The district administration stands shoulder to shoulder with his family, colleagues, and the entire BSF fraternity in this hour of sorrow,” he said.

The atmosphere was charged with emotion as officers and personnel paid their last respects, reflecting the nation’s gratitude for those who serve selflessly, even in the most adverse circumstances. Officials reiterated that the sacrifice of Constable Nunia will remain etched in history as a symbol of devotion to duty and love for the motherland.
