NEW DELHI, AUGUST 8: The family of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is in mourning following the murder of her brother, Asif Qureshi, in Delhi. The incident occurred late Thursday night in the Nizamuddin area, stemming from a dispute over a parking spot.
According to police sources, two men fatally stabbed Asif with a sharp weapon after a heated argument. The Delhi Police have since arrested both suspects and recovered the weapon used in the crime.
The incident took place around 10 p.m. outside Asif's home. Police state that two young men had parked their scooter directly in front of his house. Asif approached them and asked them to move the vehicle, suggesting they park it elsewhere.
This simple request escalated into a fierce argument. The two men initially threatened Asif and left the scene, only to return a short while later and launch a brutal attack. The sharp weapon was used to stab him, leading to his death. Asif’s wife has claimed that the suspects had threatened her husband before.
The Delhi Police have launched a full investigation and are currently questioning the detained suspects.
The tragic event has also triggered political reactions, with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders strongly condemning the murder and criticizing the BJP-led government in Delhi for the alleged lapse in law and order.
