Bharat Vikas Parishad Silchar Branch Honors Assam Rifles Jawans in Raksha Bandhan Ceremony

Silchar: In a poignant and patriotic display of gratitude, the Silchar branch of the Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) celebrated Raksha Bandhan by honoring the soldiers of the Assam Rifles. Members of the organization visited the Assam Rifles premises to tie rakhis on the wrists of the vigilant jawans, who tirelessly stand guard to protect the motherland, often making immense personal sacrifices.

The ceremony was a powerful and emotional tribute to the soldiers, whom the BVP lauded as the "tireless sentinels" of the nation. The event was held to express profound appreciation for the difficult and dangerous duty these brave men undertake, leaving behind their own comforts and families to safeguard the country's peace and security.

The program commenced with a series of short speeches delivered by BVP members Prasenjit Dasgupta, Sanjib Debnath, and Amalendu De, who spoke of the deep respect and admiration the community holds for the armed forces. Following the addresses, the ceremony proceeded with a traditional ritual. Female members of the organization first touched a lit lamp to the foreheads of each soldier and applied a tilak, symbolizing blessings and protection.

After this solemn ritual, the main event of tying the rakhis took place. Each soldier's wrist was adorned with a rakhi, a symbolic thread of protection and brotherhood. The female members who participated in this touching ceremony included Madhumita Nag, Sanchita Dutta, Rumi Roy, Anindita Roy, Chaitali Pal, Topu Choudhury, Chandrima Pal, Anukta Dasgupta, and Kakoli Chanda.

As a gesture of solidarity and respect, each jawan was also presented with an inspiring book containing the sayings of Swami Vivekananda, translated into English. The gift underscored the organization's commitment to nurturing values of patriotism and selflessness.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the secretary of the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mr. Shankar Biswas. He extended his gratitude to all the members who actively participated in the successful organization of the ceremony, including Nand Dulal Saha, Karunamay Choudhury, Tapas Chakraborty, Swapan Pal, Braja Kishore Das, Bibhuti Bhushan Chanda, and Sudip Chakraborty.
