Kohli Begins ODI Comeback Training in London; Fans Stunned by 'New Look'

London, 9 August: Cricket superstar Virat Kohli, who recently retired from both Test and T20I formats, is wasting no time in preparing for his return to one-day international cricket. With the highly anticipated ODI series against Australia just two months away, Kohli has already begun his intense training sessions in London. His photos from an indoor net session have instantly gone viral, setting the cricketing world abuzz.

A Return to the Nets

On social media, Kohli shared a picture of himself training with Gujarat Titans' assistant coach, Naeem Amin. The former India captain expressed his gratitude, writing, "Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you.” Dressed in a grey t-shirt and blue trousers, a visibly fit Kohli was seen practicing in the nets, indicating his focus on getting match-ready for his comeback series. His last competitive appearance was in the IPL final in June, where he led his team to their first-ever trophy.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had postponed the white-ball series against Bangladesh, which was initially scheduled for August. This means fans will have to wait until October to see Kohli and Rohit Sharma back in action for the national team. The three-match ODI series against Australia is set to begin on October 19 and will conclude on October 25.

A 'New' Look That Has Fans Talking

Adding to the excitement, a new picture of Kohli has surfaced online, leaving fans both shocked and concerned. The photo, shared by a fan named Shash Patel, shows Kohli with a noticeably greying beard and mustache. His once-youthful look has seemingly given way to a more mature appearance, a change that fans have never seen before.

This salt-and-pepper look has sparked a wave of speculation and emotion among cricket lovers. Many fans recalled a previous comment by Kohli, where he humorously linked his retirement from Test cricket to having to dye his beard every four days. This new look seems to have confirmed his playful remark, hinting at the pressures and passage of time that come with a long and illustrious career.

Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma, have been spending most of their time in London since the IPL concluded. The picture with his fan, which has gone viral, shows the cricket legend with a gentle smile, but his drastically changed appearance has ignited a passionate discussion about age, time, and the end of an era. The image has prompted a mix of nostalgia and concern, with many fans expressing that it's difficult to see their idol getting "old."
