SILCHAR, APRIL 18: A profound sense of grief has gripped the Cachar district following the demise of Nabarun Chakraborty, a veteran and dedicated Resource Person of Silchar Urban Block. The 58-year-old educationist breathed his last at approximately 12:20 AM on Friday while being brought back to Silchar.
A Brave Battle with Health Complications
Chakraborty had been battling illness for the past few days. For advanced treatment, he was admitted to Apollo International Hospital in Guwahati on April 9. During his treatment, he suffered a severe brain hemorrhage and was subsequently placed on ventilation support.
As his condition continued to deteriorate, his family decided to bring him back to his hometown via a life-support ambulance. Tragic news struck when he took his final breath near Kalain, just a few miles away from his destination. "His untimely departure is an irreparable loss to the teaching community," a colleague shared emotionally.
Final Tributes from the Teaching Fraternity
On Friday morning, a somber atmosphere prevailed at his residence in Rongpur Sripally. Representatives from the Silchar Block Primary Teachers’ Association, including President Kamalendu Goswami and Secretary Amit Nag, arrived to pay their respects. Prominent figures like Abdul Salam Hazari and Manabendra Das also offered floral tributes on behalf of the education department.
Chakraborty, who was childless, leaves behind his wife Debjani Chakraborty, a younger brother, and two sisters. The funeral procession saw hundreds of well-wishers and education sector employees accompanying his mortal remains to the crematorium for the last rites.

Prominent educationists have hailed Chakraborty for his professional integrity and humanitarian approach. His colleagues noted that his dedication to Silchar Urban Block and the welfare of students will be remembered for generations.
