Badarpur : In a heartfelt tribute to one of the most resonant voices of Barak Valley literature, the Badarpur Regional Committee of Barak Upatyaka Bangasahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan observed the 89th birth anniversary of the legendary poet, Late Shaktipada Brahmachari. The commemorative event, held today at the premises of Badarpur Girls' High School, brought together literary enthusiasts, educators, and cultural activists to honor the enduring legacy of the maestro whose verses continue to define the cultural fabric of the region.
Solemn Floral Tributes and Lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp
The proceedings commenced at 4:00 PM under the distinguished chairmanship of Dayal Chandra Sarkar, President of the regional committee. The atmosphere was filled with solemnity as a ceremonial lamp was lit in front of the poet’s portrait. Leading the floral tributes, President Dayal Chandra Sarkar was joined by a galaxy of local dignitaries including Gurunandan Ghosh, Kallol Majumdar, Pankaj Debray, and Kahir Ahmed Choudhury. Other prominent personalities such as Ashok Jyoti, Balaram Paul, Kshitish Chandra Nath, Shyamali Dey, Anjana Poddar, Moni Chanda, and Panpri Debray also paid their respects, marking a moment of deep emotional connection with the poet’s memory.

The cultural segment of the evening was initiated with a soul-stirring inaugural song performed by the Cultural Secretary, Anjana Poddar.
