78th Foundation Day of SUCI (Communist) Observed with Dignity in Cachar

SUCI 78th Foundation Day Celebration at Cachar District Office

Silchar : The 78th Foundation Day of SUCI (Communist) was observed with solemn respect and enthusiasm on Friday. To mark this significant milestone, a special program was organized at the party’s Cachar District Office in Silchar, drawing leaders and workers to reflect on the party's revolutionary journey.

The proceedings began with the hoisting of the party flag by senior district committee member Shyamdeo Kurmi. Following this, floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Shibdas Ghosh, the founding General Secretary and renowned Marxist philosopher. District Secretary and state committee member Bhavatosh Chakraborty led the tribute, accompanied by Subrata Chandra Nath, Professor Ajoy Roy, Dulali Ganguly, and other prominent local leaders.

Comrade Shibdas Ghosh realized during his imprisonment in the British era that the fruits of independence were not reaching the common man. His vision was to build a true revolutionary party to protect the interests of the masses, stated Bhavatosh Chakraborty.

Championing the Cause of the Working Class

During the discussion session, Bhavatosh Chakraborty highlighted the historical context of the party's formation. He noted that on April 24, 1948, Shibdas Ghosh established SUCI (C) with a handful of comrades, driven by the need for a party strictly organized on Leninist principles. He emphasized that the party continues its struggle for a socialist revolution amidst challenging times.

Addressing the current political scenario, the District Secretary criticized other leftist organizations for compromising with capitalist forces for electoral gains. He reaffirmed that SUCI (Communist) remains committed to organizing democratic movements for the welfare of the public, staying away from opportunistic politics.

A Call for Unity Against Economic Hardship

The leaders expressed grave concern over rising unemployment, the deepening economic crisis, and the declining standards in the health and education sectors. They urged the people to unite against capitalist exploitation and the politics of division.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge to strengthen public movements in Cachar and across the state, ensuring that the voice of the marginalized continues to be heard in the corridors of power.
