HAILAKANDI : In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of the democratic process, the Hailakandi District Administration has officially imposed a blanket ban on all Exit Poll activities ahead of the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly Elections.
The directive, issued and signed by District Commissioner and District Election Officer Abhishek Jain, aims to prevent any undue influence on voters' mindsets during the critical polling period.

According to the official notification, the prohibition aligns with the Election Commission’s schedule. The primary polling day is set for April 9. To maintain a neutral environment, the ban will be effective during the following window: Start Time: April 9, at 7:00 AM, End Time: April 29, at 6:30 PM. During this timeframe, no individual, media house, or organization is permitted to conduct, publish, or publicize any survey results related to Exit Polls.

The administration has clarified that this restriction extends beyond print. Electronic media, social platforms, and digital news outlets are strictly prohibited from broadcasting any opinion polls or data that could suggest voting trends.
