CACHAR : In a major step toward addressing public grievances, Barkhola MLA Kishor Nath on Saturday conducted an extensive field visit to several flood-affected and infrastructure-damaged areas under his constituency, ensuring direct communication with the local residents.
Accompanied by top district officials, the legislator visited Jarailtala, Ujannagar Kashipur, and the crucially important Purandarpur-Badarpur connecting bridge, which was recently damaged by the turbulent waters of the Jatinga River. The damaged infrastructure has disrupted daily commuting, causing immense hardship to thousands of residents in the region.
MLA Interacts with Locals, Directs PWD Officials
During his visit to Purandarpur, MLA Kishor Nath closely listened to the grievances of the villagers. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, he instructed the departmental officials present on-site to expedite the restoration process. He emphasized that constructing a durable, high-quality bridge is the topmost priority to ensure public safety.
"The reconstruction of this bridge is a long-standing public demand. I have strictly directed the department to maintain the highest quality of work so that the local population gets a permanent solution to their communication bottlenecks," Nath stated during the inspection.

Administration Assures Permanent Solution to Commuting Woes
The MLA assured the aggrieved villagers that all necessary steps are being taken to address the connectivity issues permanently. The inspection team included highly placed administrative and technical authorities to assess the damage effectively on the spot.
Prominent officials accompanying the MLA during the inspection included Silchar Sadar Circle Officer Arnab Kumar Barua, Disaster Management Field Officer Ranabijay Das, and PWD Executive Engineer Kallol Nath, among other departmental representatives.
