CM Manik Saha reviewing Tripura weather
Agartala, April 29: In a significant decision following a high-level review, the Tripura state government has decided to keep all educational institutions, including Anganwadi centers, schools, and colleges, open despite the ongoing inclement weather conditions across the state.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha chaired a crucial meeting today at 4:30 PM to assess the impact of heavy rainfall and cyclonic winds that have lashed several parts of the state. After a thorough evaluation of the current weather situation in Tripura, the Chief Minister assured the public that the situation is currently under control.
Prioritizing Public Safety and Preparedness
Addressing the media after the review session, the Chief Minister emphasized that public safety remains the administration's topmost priority. He has directed all government departments to maintain a high state of alertness to tackle any unforeseen emergencies.
"All departments have been instructed to remain prepared for any emergency. We are monitoring the situation closely, and swift action will be taken if the weather conditions deteriorate further," the Chief Minister stated.
The Tripura State Disaster Management Authority (TSDMA), district administrations, and the Tripura Police are working in close coordination. Their joint efforts are focused on risk mitigation and ensuring that normalcy is restored as quickly as possible in affected regions.
Tragedy in Longtharai Valley and Government Support
While the administration is working on a war footing, a tragic incident was reported from the Longtharai Valley area, where one person lost their life due to the weather-related disaster. Expressing his deep condolences, CM Manik Saha directed the authorities to provide immediate compensation to the bereaved family.
The government has assured that it stands firmly with the victims of the storm and heavy rains. While schools and colleges in Tripura remain functional for now, the administration has kept emergency response teams active in every district to provide immediate relief and support to those in need.
