Silchar: In a heartwarming gesture of community support, the leading cultural organization Rupam organized a felicitation ceremony for the students who excelled in the HSLC and Higher Secondary examinations. Held under the aegis of the Pratap-Priya Memorial Trust, the event not only celebrated academic excellence but also honored various NGOs and organizations that participated in the cultural rally of the 45th Naresh Chandra Pal Memorial All India Bengali One-Act Play Competition.
Education is not just about marks; it is about becoming a human being enriched with moral values. Rupam’s initiative to support these young minds is truly commendable, said Sujit Tiwari, Principal of Silchar Women’s College.
Financial Aid for Bengali Language Toppers
A significant highlight of the event was the announcement by Pradeep Dutta Roy, Chief Patron of Rupam. He declared that from next year, the trust would provide financial assistance to students securing the highest marks in Bengali in HS and HSLC. To kickstart this initiative, Vaishali Das, who secured the State Highest (99) in Elective Bengali this year, was awarded a financial grant of five thousand rupees.
Rupam has a legacy of 25 years in organizing such ceremonies. Beyond just trophies, the organization has been silently supporting financially underprivileged students with admission fees, books, and tuition costs, proving their deep-rooted commitment to society.

Celebrating Success: List of Felicitated Students
From the Higher Secondary section, the awardees included Vaishali Das, Sahil Uddin, Suhana Dey, and Arindam C. From the HSLC (Matric) batch, Prarthana Dey, Debdarshi Deb, Pratik Deb, Sakshi Roy, Kishan Shil, and Sourav Krishna Roy were honored for their stellar performances.

A Grand Gathering of Cultural Units
The event also acknowledged the contribution of 31 organizations and NGOs that added vibrance to Rupam’s cultural procession. Dignitaries like Dipankar Chanda, former Principal of Silchar Govt Boys HS School, and veteran director Subrata Bhattacharjee graced the occasion. The program commenced with a soulful chorus led by Nilanjan Paul, who also skillfully moderated the entire session.
General Secretary Nikhil Paul and Treasurer Kalyan Paul extended their gratitude to all members and well-wishers, reinforcing Rupam’s mission to foster talent and unity in Silchar and beyond.
