DHOLAI : Following widespread public outcry regarding the deteriorating state of Dholai Primary Health Centre, MLA Nihar Ranjan Das conducted a surprise visit to the facility on Sunday. The visit aimed to address the critical gaps in health infrastructure and the acute shortage of emergency services that have recently sparked significant tension in the region.

Critical Discussion on Doctor Shortage and Infrastructure

During his inspection, the MLA held a high-level meeting with SDMO Dr. Mridul Deuri to evaluate the current status of patient care. The discussions primarily focused on the lack of adequate medical staff, modern diagnostic equipment, and the recurring failures in the ambulance service, which have left local residents in distress during emergencies.

"Dholai's health services have not yet reached the expected standards. There is a severe shortage of doctors and modern equipment. While six doctors were appointed during my tenure, it remains insufficient for the total population," the MLA stated.

Expressing deep concern over the ambulance facilities, Das noted that the inability to transport patients quickly to Silchar during critical hours is a life-threatening issue that requires immediate intervention from the state health department.

Political Outlook and Regional Development

Addressing the political climate, the MLA expressed strong confidence in the upcoming election results. He predicted a landslide victory for BJP candidate Amiyo Kanti Das, estimating a winning margin of over thirty thousand votes. He assured that future development, especially in the healthcare and education sectors, would be the top priority for the new leadership.

Reflecting on his achievements, Das highlighted the elevation of the Dholai constituency to a sub-district level during his short 1.5-year tenure. However, he admitted that the lack of technical institutions and quality higher education still forces locals to depend heavily on Silchar for basic needs.

"While road connectivity has improved across the state under the BJP government, Dholai still lacks essential facilities like quality technical colleges," he added.

Public Reaction and Social Media Buzz

The MLA’s candid admission about the "underdeveloped" state of Dholai has triggered a massive debate on social media. While many applaud his honesty regarding the poor health services, others are questioning the pace of actual progress on the ground. As the election fever rises, Dholai’s development has once again become the central point of public discourse.
